SmartTrackers is growing: two new developers joined our team
At SmartTrackers, we believe that innovation is not just about technology, but above all about people. That’s why we’re proud to have welcomed two new colleagues to our development team: Tijn and Matan.
Their arrival means we can develop even faster and make our software smarter, more user-friendly, and future-proof.
Tijn – driven by collaboration
Tijn has been working as a full-stack software engineer for years. He has primarily worked with start-ups that, as expected, have grown bigger over time. His education aligns with this; he studied Computer Science and then pursued a second degree in Technology and Society at the Technical University of Eindhoven. This fits perfectly with the domain in which SmartTrackers operates. He chose SmartTrackers because the way of working, the tools, and the company size align well with his education and experience. However, it was mainly the team that made the final decision for him.
“Hi! My name is Tijn and I recently joined the developers’ team at SmartTrackers. As a software engineer, I work on improvements to both the Measurements and Assessments apps—on the backend as well as the frontend. You might already notice some small changes I’ve made online; of course, you wouldn’t be able to tell that I worked on them 🙂
At the moment, I’m working together with my colleague Matan on the information exchange between the two apps, Measurements and Assessments. This collaboration also touches on what drives me the most: the motivation to create great solutions together. The fact that this can sometimes be quite complex actually makes it all the more interesting. I feel the team spirit at SmartTrackers is strong, so I look forward with confidence to what the future will bring us.”
Matan – balancing challenge and confidence
Matan has been working as a developer in the Netherlands for some time now. During his onboarding, he dove into SmartTrackers’ domain knowledge and then quickly moved on to tangible improvements, including optimizing the report-generation feature. His mix of technical expertise and commitment to sustainability makes him a valuable addition to our team.
“Through onboarding, we covered domain knowledge, and I started on concrete tasks. Now I’m refactoring the report-generation feature by removing old dependencies and revising code to improve report performance and UX.
I was impressed by the trust and autonomy that was offered to me early in the process. Learning our code-review process helped me test assumptions and give feedback, and I am happy to connect with the team in this way. I am pleased with the tasks I have been given beyond coding and ready for more. The coding itself is a good mix of things that challenge me and things I have total confidence in doing, so I like that balance.
Being part of a company driven by sustainability means a lot to me. Though I understand that what we do is a small piece in addressing climate change, it still feels important.”
Building the future together
The addition of Tijn and Matan strengthens not only our technical capabilities but also the collaboration and creativity within the team.
